Refund Policy

We want every Self Migrate subscriber to feel they got value for their money. If you've subscribed to Essential or Premium and you're not completely happy with the product, you can request a full refund within 7 days of the subscription start date — no questions asked.

Eligibility

  • You are the account holder and you signed up for a paid Essential or Premium subscription.
  • Your refund request reaches us within 7 calendar days of the subscription start date (the date of the first paid charge, not the date you created the account).
  • You haven't already received a refund on this account in the previous 12 months.

South African subscribers retain any non-waivable consumer rights under the Consumer Protection Act in addition to this policy. EU and UK subscribers retain the 14-day right of withdrawal under the Consumer Rights Directive (waivable at checkout for digital content) — see our Terms of Service for full detail.

How to request a refund

  1. Sign in and visit /dashboard/subscription. If you're inside the 7-day window you'll see a Request a refund button on your subscription card.
  2. Click the button. We'll generate a one-time refund code tied to your account. The code is valid for 24 hours.
  3. We'll open a pre-filled email in your mail client to info@thevermeulengroup.com with the subject “Self Migrate Refund”. The code, your account email, and your subscription reference are already in the body. Just hit send.
  4. We verify the code against your account, confirm the 7-day window, and process the refund through Paystack or Lemon Squeezy (whichever processed your original charge). You should see the funds back on the original payment method within 3–5 business days.

The refund code is the security step that lets us be sure the request is genuinely from you — anyone forwarding the email won't pass the verification because the code is bound to your user account.

What happens to my account after a refund?

Your subscription is cancelled immediately. Your tier drops to Free. Free tools (calculator, document checklist, country comparison, processing times, all visa types directory) keep working as before. Any data you saved (calculations, checklists, migration profile, document vault uploads) remains on your account — you can keep using it for free, or request account deletion under our Privacy Policy.

Outside the 7-day window

We do not offer pro-rated refunds for partial months once you're past day 7. You can still cancel at any time from /dashboard/settings and access continues to the end of the current billing period; your card just won't be charged again.

If you were charged in error or have a billing dispute outside the 7-day window — duplicate charge, charge after cancellation, etc. — email info@thevermeulengroup.com and we'll resolve it within 2 business days.
