Subclass 189 — Skilled Independent
A points-tested permanent residence visa for skilled workers who are not sponsored by an employer or nominated by a state/territory.
- Under 45 years of age at the time of invitation
- Positive skills assessment in a nominated occupation on the MLTSSL
- Score at least 65 points on the points test
- At least Competent English (IELTS 6.0 or equivalent)
- Meet health and character requirements
- Submit an Expression of Interest through SkillSelect
