Express Entry — Create your profile
Step-by-step walkthrough of creating an Express Entry profile for FSW, CEC, or FSTP via the IRCC online portal.
Procedural walkthrough only. Drafted from publicly available IRCC documentation as of 17 May 2026. The portal UI may have changed since then — verify each step against the live portal.
For advice on whether to lodge, what to claim, or how to optimise your application, consult a CICC-licensed consultant. Self Migrate provides information, not advice.
Before you start
- An IRCC Secure Account — either via GCKey or a partnered Sign-In Partner bank login.
- A valid language test result (IELTS General / CELPIP General for English; TEF Canada / TCF Canada for French) with all four skills scored.
- An Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) from an IRCC-designated organisation — required for FSW and for any foreign degree you want to claim points for.
- A valid passport and details for any accompanying family members (spouse / common-law partner, dependent children).
- A NOC code that matches your work experience, at TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 (TEER 4 and 5 generally aren't eligible).
